Die Künstlerin Eva Gieselberg (*1978) lebt und arbeitet in der Nähe des Bodensees in Ravensburg.
Sie ist gelernte Motorjournalistin und fährt leidenschaftlich gern klassische Volvo-Oldtimer (wie ihren 1973er Volvo 1800 ES 'Schneewittchensarg' und ihren 145er Kombi von 1972). Im Jahr 2015 fiel der Startschuss zu Evas farbenfrohem und minimalistischem Fotoprojekt #CANDYCARS. Bei den technisch wie ästhetisch anspruchsvollen Arbeiten ist es das Zusammenspiel zwischen Autos, Farbigkeit und Licht, das im Betrachter starke Emotionen weckt und ihn zum Lächeln bringt.
Die Künstlerin arbeitet mit der Reduktion des Minimalismus. Nach dem Motto 'less is enough' spielen Evas grafisch orientierte Fotografien mit den Farben und Formen betagter Modellautos. Sie werden bereits während der Aufnahme 1:1 komponiert. Auf eine nachträgliche Bildmanipulation wird verzichtet. Die kleinen Gefährten wecken beim Betrachter Kindheitserinnerungen. Wunderschöne Formen, klassisches Design und fröhliche Farben - #CANDYCARS sind Transporteur für gute Laune.

Eva Gieselberg (*1978) is a german photography artist living in Ravensburg near Lake Constance.
She is a motoring journalist by trade and a passionate classic Volvo driver (1800 ES built in 1973 and a 145 station, one year older). Back in 2015 she started her colorful and minimalistic photography series #CANDYCARS. In her technically and aesthetically compelling photo editions, it is the interplay between car, color and light that raises strong emotions in the viewer and makes them smile.
The artist works with the aesthetic reduction of minimalism. Adhering to the motto ‚less is enough‘, Eva`s graphic photographs play with the orientation of colors and shapes of vintage toycars. We associate these little car models from our childhood with pleasent memories. Beautiful shapes, classic design and vibrant colors – the cars are a universal carrier of good mood.
